9.0 Patch Notes -Beta- (original thread)
ca 31 October 2017

New Feature: Faction Assault
Faction Assault is a cooperative faction event that places your faction into a gauntlet of lieutenant fights leading to a Boss. These formidable bosses can wreak havoc on your best teams! Faction leaders select the Faction Assault difficulty tier for their faction to participate in. Defeat the final phase of the Boss to earn spectacular rewards that can include Faction Assault exclusive characters!

Combat Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where Guardian shield could prevent negative status effects gained without taking damage
  • Fixed an issue where reviving a teammate using the weapon effect Parting Shot would not give the revived teammate the 100% defense buff

Regarding AP bonus weapons >>
Weapon gets calculated individually. It can affect mainly AP gain effects at start combat, where usually more than one weapon triggers its effect. The way things were rounding on 45 AP characters, the third weapon was only counting for 3 AP while weapons 1, 2, and 4 were counting for 4 AP. The fix ensures every weapon provides the same value as another weapon with the same effect.

Feature release coming soon!

3.01 Patch Notes (Faction Territories) (original thread)
ca 4 December 2016

What’s New!

Coming soon! Introducing Faction Territories! Team up with your faction mates to take and hold iconic locations like Alexandria, The Hilltop, The Kingdom, and the Sanctuary. Fight with other factions to earn game-wide bonuses and be the exclusive owner of a piece of the Walking Dead world.

Plus a variety of bug fixes and general improvements.

Main Update Notes

Faction Territories:
Faction Territories is available in select regions, and will appear in more over the coming weeks.

  • We’re deploying this new feature in phases to ensure that it’s optimized for our users (see bottom of page for more information).

Factions can now vie with each other for control of territories in the world of the Walking Dead.

  • There are 40 standard territories, some of which give more valuable benefits than others.
  • There are 10 special event territories which become available for limited time events.

Attack territories with your faction, take control, and fortify them with defenders to keep them.

  • If a territory is unoccupied, fight to clear the walkers from it to take control for your team.
  • If it’s controlled by a rival faction, fight their defenders to deplete their control of the area.
  • Once the defender falls the territory is Contested, and you’ll battle to seize control of it.

Once your faction takes a territory, it and its benefits are yours until a rival takes it from you.

  • You must leave behind teams to lay siege to your enemy and defend what you own.
  • Only factions with siege teams in place can fight to consolidate control of a territory.
  • Siege teams can only be placed when you attack a territory - you must fight to win.
  • Once you’re in control, your siege teams become defenders, and you can reinforce.

Characters defeated in territory battles suffer stamina damage and become exhausted.

  • An exhausted character can’t participate in territory battles until it has time to recover.
  • Characters recover naturally over time, but this can be sped up with recovery items.
  • Rarer characters have more endurance, but take longer to recover from exhaustion.
  • Characters occupying a Contested territory cannot recover until control is consolidated.
  • Characters suffer increasing exhaustion from death in territories held for a long time.

Each territory provides one of a large variety of ongoing bonuses while your faction owns it.

  • Some bonuses enhance your combat power, while others give you economic benefits.
  • They apply to your entire faction, and can benefit you in various other game features.
  • You can earn additional bonuses for owning multiple territories in a group together.

Specialist Skill - Indomitable:

  • As long as it isn’t Stunned, the specialist gains +30% Defense until the start of its next turn each time it takes damage. This combines with itself and with other Defense bonuses.

Other Updates:

  • You can now report a player or block their messages by tapping on them in the chat log.
  • The “Intelligence Gathering” daily mission can now properly select zones from Washington D.C.
  • Scavenger team slots are no longer gated by progression on the world map.

  • Fixed an issue where users couldn’t skip the duration of scavenger missions with HC.
  • Fixed incorrect stats being shown in the character dossier for ally characters in team select.
  • Fixed Sawyer’s chainsaw using the same sound effects as Shiva’s claw attacks.
  • Fixed additional cases where a walker would sometimes “block” an incoming attack.
  • Fixed a bug where players would sometimes reset to zero energy when switching regions.
  • Fixed an issue where force quitting could reset the contents of resource generator buildings.
  • Fixed an issue where a stamina counter was shown for helpers in team select screens.
  • Fixed an issue where progress on ongoing armoury research was rarely being reset.
  • Fixed a variety of crashes, hangs, and other bad states the game could get into.
  • Many art, text, and UI bug fixes and improvements.

Territories Slow Roll-Out:
The 3.0.1 update includes various bug fixes and improvements and with it comes support for our new Faction Territories feature, which we’re confident that survivors will really enjoy. In order to make sure that the setup for Faction Territories is as good as it can be, we’ll be bringing this feature online first for a limited number of regions in the near future. This is designed to help us work out the feature setup which will be engaging and enjoyable to as many people as possible, and is something we can only prove out with real players, real rosters, and in a live environment.

We anticipate bringing this feature live to players everywhere early in 2017 (though of course if things don’t go according to plan we may change that up), and in the meantime we’d like to encourage those of you on regions that gain early access to this feature to discuss Faction Territories, and give us your feedback both in the community and through the several rounds of surveys we’ll be pushing to these regions during our slow roll-out.

When we’ve completed the initial slow roll-out, we’ll open up this feature to all regions. During the initial roll-out, however, it will not be possible to create new accounts on the roll-out regions - our goal is to optimize this feature, and an influx of curious users starting new accounts would disrupt that.

On top of this daily gift of coins, pass holders also receive a special bonus reward on the 30th day. (Note: The daily gift happens at log-in, so be sure to log in every day to get your coins)

  • iOS 3D Touch Support - We now support iOS 3D touch for a number of actions. Unless noted otherwise, support for these actions are supported on other devices via long press.

    • Rapid Resource Collection - Quickly collect all resources in town from your farm or material post by using a hard/long press on one of the buildings.

(I know that you guys figured this out already, but I didn’t want to waste perfectly good wordplay)

  • Adrenaline Rush Update for Buffs and Debuffs: To allow for increased diversity of Adrenaline Rushes (ARs) moving forward, the mechanics of Buffs and Debuffs have been decoupled from the % Damage Increase, allowing for new ARs that only do buffs/debuffs.

In the new system damage will apply first and then buffs/debuffs. We recognized that this change decreases the damage of ARs that have a -DEF or a +ATK debuff/buff. Affected characters will have the damage portion of their AR increased slightly to compensate for the new system. While the total damage of their ARs may drop due to these changes, we had to take into account that the raw higher % damage they now have will combo more potently other buffs/debuffs in play.

  • Updates to Name Your Team Function.

  • Various updates and bug fixes to increase game performance.
