It’s been about a month and a half since Players United was created. Players joined together to voice our concerns and hopes for the future of RTS. This follow up is to remind Scopely of the concerns PU initially expressed. We are still strong in our collective resolve and still stand united.
Our opening statement has not changed: “We, the players of Scopely’s Walking Dead: Road to Survival, have become increasingly disheartened and alarmed at the direction the game continues to go in. Every day there continues to be more issues.” In fact, the in-game issues seem to have grown since this post was initially made.
S Class Characters. This is one of the biggest concerns for those still playing. It’s been said they are here to stay and if the current release rate is continued, we will have a new one every two weeks. While these characters and updates were most likely already in the works prior to the release of the PU letter, the speed of their release, which was initially stated to be rare, is alarming and concerning. This goes hand in hand with other major concerns of PU
The gap between F2P and P2P. The updates that were made, while much needed and welcome change to the wheels, tokens, etc, they do nothing to bridge this gap. If there is a release of S Class characters every two weeks, this gap will widen and those toons added to the wheels will become obsolete faster. STOP THE META CHANGES AND INCLUDE MORE GRINDABLE WORTHWHILE CHARACTERS
TRANSFERS. Players have anxiously been waiting for this. Instead, they have been demoralized by the new rules. Players made plans on who they wanted to join and where they wanted to go and this has changed all of that. Many have to find new recruits and new regions within less than a week. With the lockdown on transfers being implemented again, for a month to two months this time, transfers will be tough for those of us actively playing and the community as a whole.
Technical Stability. This is a repeated issue. New features and updates are continually bugged yet still released. Hordes has been shelved indefinitely because of issues needing to be worked out. Arenas, the new update, is now causing major issues and leaving players at a disadvantage. It has shown to be very pay to win and with it being tied to leagues and a daily occurrence, has left many players frustrated. Characters that are released with bugs also take a very long time to be fixed. Players are not buying the characters that they are advertised. Or they buy a character as seen in use in game that is actually not working properly unbeknownst to them. This remains an ongoing issue with new releases.
Communication. There still remains issues with communication between the player base and Scopely. The communication should be between the company and those playing the game. There is a lack of information provided in game and information given out is usually delayed, after a great outcry has come from the community. Having regular updates on where the game is headed from Scopely instead of vague info from Scopely representatives that info is on it’s way would help this issue. It would help to gain more trust from the players over time if we are shown Scopely follows through on their promises. For example, the follow up post to the initial PU letter stated we would be provided with “an update with additional details on timing over the next few weeks” as well as a blog. We are still waiting on both of these.
Rewards. Rewards, rewards, rewards. Players warred for the great big event TOC for lackluster prizes. This cannot continue. War wheels need to be of good value and the amount of dupes players receive for prizes needs to be addressed and fixed in some way. Back when six stars were released, it was stated dupes would be received less often. This promise was for the premier wheel but a feature that should be reviewed and added to these reward wheels.
Legacy toons. With S Class toons here to stay, the stats need a major jump. They can’t compare and may as well remain five stars with how they currently are being released.
